I hope Miyata doesn't take a beating due to his desire to fight Ippo again!

At least Mr. Sakaguchi is just a discout Don King, seeing as the actual guy is a murderous criminal who conned boxers (especially coming from poorer circumstances) into unfair contracts with displays of cash and trickery (fake piano skills, for example).

Been loving your reactions to Hajime no Ippo. I do hope one day we can see your reaction to an older Boxing Manga/Anime released in the late 60's called Ashita no Joe which influenced a whole slew of Manga and Anime including Hajime no Ippo.

Season 2 is so good, I think from Mashiba vs Kimura through the end of S2 is arguably peak Hajime no Ippo

Miyata was Ippo's first, so it is normal for him to romanticize over him. Then, Miyata receiving the abnormal amount of feelings from Ippo, is reciprocating, explaining his devotion. To Ippo, Miyata is the epitome of strength. A technical outboxer who has dangerous counters and has demonstrated his skill at in-fighting as well. Miyata's footwork and technique are nearly perfect, he only lacks power, which his Counter and Jolt Counter compensate for. As far as boxers go, he is nearly perfect. Unfortunately, he is suffering the same issue as Takamura, fighting in a weight class that is detrimental to his build.
