About the Tomoya feeling like he shouldn't go to the picnic. from personal experience when you don't feel like you belong at home or with your family it's easy to feel like you don't belong anywhere. Even when with kind people like a friend's family who'll accept you it can feel like intruding on their family moments. If your relationship with your parents is bad enough you start to wonder if there's something wrong with you and if you even deserve to be part of something like that. that feeling is doubled when you're a kid. hits a bit close to home lol

If I’m correct, there’s technically 2 episodes left of the season. Then episode 23 being an “extra” and 24 being an OVA. Then onto After Story!

Yup, it's called immersing oneself into the story. It's very easy to be swept up into the storytelling and characters without losing touch with reality...well, for most of us. Go ahead and point out to me the moment where I got my panties bunched, as you did, over someone having a different take on a character or story point... I'll wait.
