I was afraid of the beating to the feels that was upcoming, and it was even rougher than I had imagined! Corazon is legend!

A classic "One-Piece-Gut-Punch". Hurts everytime

Andrew Lolavar

ahhh the best one piece backstory is over and i'm still sad

Dakota

Corazon was cool

RiP to the glorious Corazon, we hardly knew ye. Amazing how Oda wrote him in so quickly and had that hit so hard...Piggyback his whole character off of Law and Doffy and just made it so meaningful. And you see Sengoku get a big moment...having to deal with Doffy be a warlord at Marineford knowing what happed to Cora-san...but who might that child be the navy rescued...hmmmmmm....

White Lightning

Even a scumbag like Arlong had the decency to only pull the trigger once. The way Doffy just pumps ammo into people is so much more disrespectful towards the person he is killing in my opinion

RIP Corazon 😔. Also that Drie guy is X Drake from the worst generation, you can see by the X on his chin, never noticed until now. That was very subtle.

SpazBoysComedy

Good point... It seems he enjoys the absolute obliteration of anyone he deems unfit to live.

After this episode my mind was 100% set on that Luffy should beat Doffy and let Law kill him. Doffy is simply a monster wearing a human skin. Of all the pirates Luffy has decided to face off with, Doffy is by far the most evil. You can also tell Law adored Corazon seeing as how his pirate crew is named for Corazon(Heart Pirates) and their Jolly Roger is his goofy smile.

Man this flashback is heart breaking specially how at the end when Corazon was covered in snow is like how law would've looked like if he didn't get treated. In a sense Corazon took Law's place and changed law's fate. IMO I think oda choose the calm calm fruit because he already had the ending of Corazon and this flashback in his mind, the man is a genius when come to orchestrating a brutal heart breaking flashback.

Bet you never thought you would feel bad if someone told you a celestial dragon would be shot. Corazon truly was a legendary man.

Jake from SF

One thing I think that really makes One Piece backstories so powerful is that several episodes are taken to carefully tell the story that it is really like watching a stand alone movie that just so happens to have connections to the overall series.

V_VMat

How many things would be different had Corazon killed Doffy then and there?

So Sengoku adopted corazon. say what you will about him I think he was a pretty decent guy to lead the marines

If you think about it Law did become a ruthless calculating pirate who's caused massive uproars.... But he's a ruthless pirate not serving Doffy thanks to corazon.

I think its a good idea to remind that X Drake is the pirate who's devil fruit lets him turn into a T-rex. Since it can be difficult to remember with so many characters

SpazBoysComedy

Yea, it's actually kinda cool that we have a villain who is nothing but villainous!... And it certainly makes you want to see him get a beating!

Rixadzin

I think Doffy is the kind of guy that is all about the destination. He took no pleasure in killing Corazon here. No smile, no laugh, just stone cold action. Doffy is the kind of guy that will sacrifice anyone too get where he wanna go, but with people like Vergo, Monet and even Cora it pains him to do it. On the other side there is Luffy who is all about the journey and would never put his own dreams above that of his crew. There might be a certain person that is more of an opposite of Luffy, but Doffy comes pretty freaking close imo.

Kamui

That little boy in this flashback "Drie" is X-Drake just to let you know. The guy who is in the same "worst generation" as Luffy and Law :) His father was this asshole who tried to sell the OP-OP fruit to the navy.

DevilJynx

Sengoku is a kind man at heart. Not as lenient as Issho, but not as much of a hardass like Smoker.

Miasimon

I'm honestly shocked that this moment didn't shoot Doffy up to be your most hated character in OP, finally dethroning Arlong. I guess it's because Doffy is a fucking fantastic villain and actually has some depth to his character. Arlong was just a racist with no redeeming qualities. That raises a question though.. we've seen a pretty substantial number of villains by now. Some are annoying, some are heartless, some have an ego spanning 500 miles, and some are Doffy. Which villain is your current favorite? For any reason. Mine is still Enel, just because he legitimately had THE most bustedly OP power (minus Blackbeard's power), he was just too full of himself to use it to its fullest potential.

Preet

Feels punch on a thursday god damnit

Lewd Angel

I would even say Blackbeards power doesn't match it, because Blackbeard can't dematerialize like other Logia's and takes double the pain of any damage done to his body.

Lewd Angel

I really wish Law took to wearing Corazon's black cape, just to spite Doflamingo. Maybe he could've thrown his own touch on it and added a few white feathers to match his hat, it'd be a good look on him i think.
