Every time I watch this first episode, I'm reminded of how much I freaking love this show. ^^ For all the same reasons you mentioned, (it's got this eerie undertone right from the start) so I'm glad you're already enjoying it too. Kiznaiver comes from "Kizuna"-- the Japanese word for bond.
