That is SO immediately sad! I can't wait to understand more of how this relates to the girl with the junk doll!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the girl and the junk doll are, like, THE big mystery build up of the series. The answers you're looking for won't be answered until literally the climactic final few episodes of After Story.

Yup, Fuko's the "ghost" girl. It was amusing to see you speculating that Nagisa was the ghost all this time, right when you run into the ghost. There are a couple reasons that Nagisa never really interacted with anyone, but you've already seen them, or they were the result of the production process. The Watsonian reason is that she's isolated because of repeating, and doesn't really have any peers anymore. Especially with the cultural SEP field of the Japanese, someone who doesn't fit in is shunned. No one interacted with her simply because no one could be bothered to, until Okazaki came along. The Doylist reason is because of the structure of the original Visual Novel that the CLANNAD anime is based on, and the decisions made to adapt it into an anime. See, the VN was structured like a dating sim, with different "routes" that correspond to each girl. All of those routes are fully independent of(and mutually exclusive to) each other; once the choices you've made send you down one route, you primarily interact with that girl, and the other routes are cut off. There simply isn't that much interaction between them at that point. When adapting for the anime, KyoAni wanted to keep all of the very well-written and emotional storylines, but had the problem of needing to choose one route to actually adapt. So, they compromised, and kind of merged the routes together. Each of the main story arcs in the anime correspond roughly to one of the routes in the VN, but in the anime, things are changed up so they can all happen, to tell one overall story instead of multiple independent stories. I absolutely adore the VN, but I am very happy with what they did with the anime. It fits very well to be able to have everyone come together into one grand ensemble.

Also, I love this episode, because it really starts to introduce Okazaki's playful side. He has absolutely no compunctions about pulling a prank on anyone if he gets a good setup, and it's hilarious.

Something to look forward to each morning :) post times work great (at least where I’m at). It’s funny i just finished this series about 3 weeks ago so I’m fairly new and I kept looking for content creators and couldn’t find any regardless of 1-2 youtubers. We all know that they can only show like 5-10 minutes of an episode so coming here and seeing the whole reaction is awesome. I truly look forward to it
