I'm a sucker for moments like the one Ippo just experienced. Definitely choked me up a bit!

WHOLESOME DEUS

Yup first time sparring with some one more experience is just you taking a beating. This show is emotional and makes me uneasy watching it cause I always get the feeling to fight. I'm out here shadow boxing while the episode plays 🙃

I like Miyata. Dude lost his cool a bit, but you can tell he knows what he's doing and he seems to respect Ippo.

Miyata is my favorite kind of boxer, an out boxer. They have to rely on good footwork, defense, and precise movements. Ippo is a Swarmer type, relying on constant pressure to overwhelm the opponent. They are complete opposites in style but outboxing, imo, is superior, as you can't train your head and brain to withstand blows. You can shift the damage by shortening their punch and redirecting some of the damage through proper head positioning but you will slowly keep accumulating damage over the years and your career and capabilities will slowly deteriorate. Whereas, an outboxer can improve over time, gaining sharper movements with experience and even incorporating psychological attacks into their style, which further increases their capabilities, as then the opponent is moving in the way the fighter intends. A well placed soft blow can be just as powerful as a hard blow.

This was supposed to be a throwaway to give me time to catch up on the reactions i missed but its so good and I'm not even a boxing fan

Actually ippo is an inboxer, the goal is to stay close so your opponent can't get fully extended blows or easily dodge. Now yes their careers tend to be shorter than outboxers, but they also tend to become more famous and successful, and to alot of people that's better
