This tournament is badass, but some of the potential matchups could pose a real problem!

Ban, king, Meliodas and Escanor (in that order) are in my opinion some of the best characters in fiction

Nobody can resist a good tournament arc. Goku would be proud.

"...tentacle girl's little tournament" -sorry but that's a dude. And the way Meliodas&Ban "took out" their opponents is brilliant. Those birds ended up being just collateral damage 😂😂

Like I said, Elaine might be sweet and innocent, but by the standards of the series, she is a monster. And you've now seen the only weapon in the series to rival the Bullshit of King's spear. Naturally, it's Gloxinia's spear. It's like King's spear, except it has different, equally broken, abilities. Just shown in this episode, you get wide range vine skewering an area the size of a city and healing just short of resurrection, absolutely stupid. He's got more to show too, but I'll save that for later. I understand why, from a lore perspective, the fairy kings can do this, but I still think its kinda cheap that the weapons are so overwhelmingly power that there literally isn't a single contender in the same league as them in the entire series, and I don't even think there's any that come close. The spirit spears are MLB, every other weapon is middle school intermural baseball. I never stop laughing when Ban and Meliodas accidentally win their match. Also, looking back at this now, I think that every distinct character comes back in the future except for that martial arts guy. Honestly, I feel like he probably does too, I just don't remember it.

Let's be honest though, we all do. That's why they're traps.

The thing is though, Gloxinia was never portrayed as a girl, so by that definition he isn't one. That doesn't prevent people to get trapped still. But I never saw him as girl either, so it's all in your guys head, sorry 😂

I would argue that Divine Axe Rhitta is a close contender, it is Escanor's weapon after all, so it can't be inferior. Not to mention, Galand could barely even lift it, using both hands, while Escanor treats it like it is weightless.

The eternal argument of tits vs. ass has never been this deadly

Lord Escanor 🌞🔥🔥

Beyond some early season shenanigans, i never found Kings spear to be bs, and when i did its mainly its use rather than the actual powerlevel and abilities it has. Like you said yourself, King is...well a King. Hes the protector of the entire Fairy Kingdom, nature is his power and from it is where the spear came, and nature is pretty fuckin all-encompasing and powerful.

Honestly, I'd agree if it didn't show numerous times where it wasn't equal to its wielder. It can't control his power at the higher levels, and gets flat out thrown away when Noon hits, and the only time it gets truly used in a way that made my jaw drop was in this arc, against gowther to use Daytime at Night. It's a fantastic weapon, and I'd put it on the same level as Lostvayne, Star of Aldin, and Twin Bow Harlet as weapons that maximize the weilders powers, but the spears are legitimately stronger than their weilders. I understand that it's only because they're using Diaster to shift between aspects of the Sacred tree, and no other sin would be able to use them all like that, but comparing 10 different powers ranging from healing to damage to armor to stores sunlight and that's it, just doesn't seem like equal weapons.
