I am very glad you are doing these 4 episodes. There are important stuff that happens here that makes Season 2 easier to understand.

Just in slight defense of Horn o' Plenty goddess, she likely had every intention of reviving Elaine if Ban killed Meliodas. She wasn't lying about that. Just her motivation was more personal than because he's a demon. I've always been curious whether, had Ban killed the captain after this, would Elaine still be revived? Like, he objectively would've done his task, but the horn that was the vessel for goddess who'd given it to him was destroyed, so..? The next two are the best of the mini series, particularly since you're a fan of the characters and they're very character driven stories.
