He also showed something about his definition of a real warrior. Killing nobody by using his fists and seeing the ultimate being a position where your sword is useless to you... That is an alternate and even somewhat modern way to define a warrior. To him, being a warrior is about stopping the fighting and removing the need to fight with no deaths.

So interesting fact as cool as the concept of berserkers and berserker mushrooms are, turns out they're largely a modern misinterpretation. Berserker just means someone who wears a bearskin. A tradition where professional duellists or champions of Viking chieftains would wear a bearskin to identify themselves. Somehow this got conflated with another story where warriors would go mad, gnaw on their shields and charge into large masses of enemies cutting them to ribbons. Hence the idea of the berserker was born. It's still cool seeing Bjorn go nuts and beat the shit out of his own guys though.

Yeah the mushroom thing is something vikings used to actually do. They dosed themselves with large amounts of magic mushrooms and apparently stripped naked and ran wild killing people which is where the term Berserker came from. A Very similar strategy to the one used by the homeless in LA exept rather than murder people they simply shit in the streets.
