The walking on the leaves on the water was stunningly beautiful! The news about the Major getting to Violet was stunningly sad!

Something interesting I noticed while watching this a second time. This is the first time that Violet has ever expressed frustration about another person's actions. Usually she's very accepting of the behaviour of others. Here she gives the playwright grief about his habits and difficult personality.

This was one of the episodes where I cried

Man, I'm a blubbering fool over here. My feels were just Blitzkrieg'd.

After all the things Violet has done to help others through her writing and actions, and the resulting fantastic range of emotions she has brought back into the forefront of peoples' lives, I was so glad to see that she was finally able to start expressing herself and evolving her personality, seemingly, into that of a happier person. The view, vision and memories that Violet are able to give and bring back to this playwright as well as the feelings of excitement and allowance of self expression from Violet that the playwright brought upon this sweet, beautiful conclusion that would've left the episode on such a high and positive note. The summation of these bittersweet-but-happy-ending stories over the last few episodes have almost kept the growing knowledge of Violet's history and the eventuality of the Major out of mind and on the back burner. However, as life often and abruptly does, Violet is hit with the "bad" that evens out all the "good" that comes with experiencing a fuller range of emotions and the consequences of her actions, even though they were carried out with a childlike intention of "doing as she was told by those who own and control her". It leaves me heart-wrenched to watch her sit there with her head in her hands, exclaiming "I am burning!" when faced with the moral guilt of having taken the lives of so many in an emotionless, robotic manner, now with a more profound and deep understanding of impactful the ripple of death, and sadly murder, is to so many others. But, of course cause it's a fucking anime, they cannot stop beating your feels with just that, no, bad things must always come in threes. As soon as she returns to her home city, not even a minute after stepping off the boat, she comes in contact with her foster mother who inadvertently implies that the Major, the person with whom Violet felt her life hinged upon, is dead. Obviously feeling now a swirling storm of negative emotions, Violet angrily confronts Hodgins about the string of lies she has been lead on and, when finally faced with the truth, chooses to hold out hope against odds. This is then immediately met with Hodgins stubborn attempts to force Violet to see the likely grim reality of the situation, only fanning the flames of anger and distrust within her, leading her to storm out. Watching her run out, feeling betrayed by one of the only other people she felt she could rely upon in this world, I can only hope that she can find a way to grieve and accept. Yet there is the worry in the words she said, about ending her life without the Major... TL;DR: This show is incredible, this episode was so sweet and then so sad, I hope Violet is okay :'(
