The way Zoro cut that gallion is the exact same as what Hawkeye did to Kreig's ship when he was first introduced.

Curtis you were wrong. We didn't used to wait 1 week. We waited 4 weeks because Oda took a break back then when the time skip was starting. Manga people know what I mean ;)

Luffy used the GTS(Go To Sleep). It was super effective!

As others have said, between the last chapter before the timeskip and the first chapter after the timeskip Oda wanted to take a 3 week vacation. His editor told him he could have 4 weeks but when he gets back the first several pages have to be in color. So, he took a 4 week vacation to Hawaii with his wife and daughter. I, luckily, caught up with the manga like 2 chapters after the timeskip so I didn't have to deal with that 4 week hiatus. However, due to the rony-rona, instead of waiting 1 week for a chapter we've mainly had to wait 2 weeks between chapters. Normally, his schedule averages 3-5 weeks straight with a new chapter and then a week break. So, he does about 40 chapters a year. Which 10 chapters make up a volume, therefore, making 4 volumes worth of manga per year. The anime on the other hand usually has about 50-52 episodes a year. It's pretty rare for them to go on a break, and this is the main reason for the filler episodes and the filler scenes in canon episodes.
