Some guy named Chris

I'm no doctor or geneticist or anything like that, so I may be entirely off base here. But, I'm pretty sure 6 people doesn't make a good gene pool. so why to we have a village of beautiful people now instead of a bunch of inbred monsters? Just one issue I've had with what was arguably my favorite episode of the series.

Yea, the reality of restarting the human race would likely look significantly different! :-D

Daniel Lima

Well they left that island and headed for japan its possible they ran into some people who unpetrified early. Maybe it'll be explained in season 2.

I still don't get why they didn't just settle in like a little town in Japan or something. Also, we pretty much have 6 geniuses on board that ship, I don't get why so much of the knowledge they possessed got lost over the years^^

WHOLESOME DEUS

I got curious like others about having a whole village being descendents of 6 people, so I googles it to try and find a answer and according to the article you need about 98 suitable being to have a healthy (non-inbred) population.

The scientist that ran the simulation admits that this number seems low to him but it's a simulation

Fun fact: The episode title is a play on Byakuya's and Senku's names. Byakuya means Hundred Nights and Senku means Thousand Skies.
