As for the codes on 140.1, they are purely optional content. "Turn on the L-I-G-H-T for the ships coming home" is meant to direct you to the lighthouse in Epiphany Fields. They guide you to some optional collectibles called the Adler Notes, which if I remember correctly there are 12 notes hidden throughout the island. I would say go ahead and skip finding them all, but if you happen across one then feel free to take it. They sort of reveal more about what happened to the island with Maggie Adler and stuff, but I wouldn't really bother cause it takes like an hour to walk around collecting them
