So as I said earlier this season when we get to it I will elaborate on why mirio is my fav character. This fight. This 1 fight here cemented him as my all time favs character in this anime. Also it's not explained to well but mirio fought against overhaul for 5 MINUTES without his quirk. If that doesn't make him a badass I dont know what will. as overhaul is shown to be so strong that pros will most likely lose to him. and mirio dealt with him for 5 minutes without a quirk. I was so hype for this to be animated after I read it in the manga. sorry if this dont feel like I'm explaining much but I suck with words.

White Lightning

I loved the moral contrast between All Might’s ultimately choosing Deku as his successor and Sir Nighteye’s contrasting perspective. All Might claimed Deku was worthy to pass One For All to and Nighteye countered with the idea of there certainly being people more worthy than him out there. And Nighteye wasn’t exactly wrong. Had Mirio received One For All and had that overwhelming speed and power on top of his already existing ability he most likely would’ve won this fight fairly easily. Mirio had everything covered but just lacked the physical power to completely overpower his opponent in one or two hits like All Might. It kinda makes you wonder if All Might made the right choice. Deku has been broken repeatedly to the point of scarring and permanent damage because of All Might’s passing of One For All. Even Deku’s mother was affected, on an emotional level. by Deku getting hurt so often which is indirectly tied to All Might.

Also it was changed cause copyright but mirio's attack that was called phantom threat is actually called phantom menace continuing with the star wars refrences

This episode really cements Mirio not just as my favorite character in the show, but in these moments it makes it clear what Eraser meant when he said that Mirio was the closest to being the number one hero. This whole arc made me furious with the fact that Deku was the one who inherited All Mights power and legacy because Mirio is so much more worthy and he embodies everything All Might stands for. That smile as he’s throwing everything away, just to save 1 little girl. He’s the greatest hero in the series and it’s sad to think he could’ve had so much more.

Yea, it's really fascinating to see how there may have been a much stronger suited candidate for the One For All.

Mirio is a true hero. I think he's another that Stain would be really proud of. His quirk was the perfect counter to Overhaul, but even with it gone he keeps fighting and manages to hold out for longer than anyone could reasonably ask for. In this episode he really shows why Aizawa said that even though he is a student, that Mirio is (was) probably closest to being the new number 1 hero even amongst all the pros.

Fun fact that really emphasizes how long and hard this fight was, the manga reads at the end of it- “15 minutes have passed since Mirio caught up to them. 5 Minutes have passed since he was shot with the quirk-destroying bullet. In the overwhelmingly disadvantageous situation in which he was outnumbered 2-to-1, he fought approximately one third of the battle in a quirkless condition. No, not fought... but protected to the bitter end!” Our boy mirio is a textbook badass and true hero

Im in a big disagreement with Mirio being more deserving, but regardless if he was the one who inherited it, he likely would've lost it here. If he was the one to get OFA he definitely would've stayed and trained with Nighteye, as his relationship with AllMight wouldn't be as bad, which means he would've definitely gotten to this point to battle Overhaul, where he would've most likely lost both quirks.

Right now at this moment in the story, lemillion is defo a better candidate for afo than deku imo
