Yeah I think episode 5 is where it first starts to pick up with the even more adult humour and also the equal opportunity racism. 8 and 9 are where it really starts to hit its stride though. Before those two episodes you have a lot a little remarks and jokes here and there, but the original story is still quite prominent. By the time you reach 8 and 9 you can tell they really started throwing caution to the wind and just wanted to see how far they could take things. A good way to think of it is kind of like DBZA where the first few episodes were pretty funny, but by the time they got to the Nappa and Vegeta stuff the jokes clearly started to pick up in quality and then by season 2 they had really hit their stride.

the humor gets so much r-rated later down the road so be prepared but the show is hilarious due to it being able to cross the line and jesus girl is my favorite because she's like a meme in this show :)
