I don’t even know japanese but learned every word of this song because of how much I loved it. And the emotion Cho puts into it was amazing. Best Actual One Piece song

Kamui

Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho

I cried like bitch again 😭 Curtis all episode long : "this is so sad" Me:"dude, wait till you get to the solo"

Kamui

me too. This song is so good and it's full of emotions

Where is everyone? This has turned into a quartet. A trio. A Duet! ... Solo! No matter how many times I watch that scene, it never seems to fail to hit me in the feels... :-(

For me Brook has the saddest backstory

That song moves me everytime. Also, the german version is really good just like the entire voice acting. Love it when Brook sings on his own. Beautiful voice. Reminds me of a certain cat 😊

Brook's backstory is so brutally sad... imagine just floating on the sea for 50 years all alone after losing (almost) everyone you care about, with no hope of being rescued, and your only motivation each day not to just jump into the sea is that sliver of hope that someday you can be reunited with a friend whom you don't know is still alive or not. Poor guy...

I'm glad Oda knows how and when to put in emotion onto the stories. For me it never seems exess like some other series. Captain Yorkie is very human and I appreciate it. In other subs he says "Brook, I'm afraid of dieing" and that just feels so human and real to me v.s. a charecter saying "I'm ready to die" for a cheap badass moment. Love this show

I’d be going insane by day 3. Absolutely nothing to occupy you but your own imagination and the insistent reminder that all my friends are dead. By a month I’d be senile and probably borderline suicidal.

GoldArthur

I've never known another story of ANY MEDIUM that can so flawlessly depict the human experience. A PERFECT blend of sadness, comedy, and joy. The worst of life, the best of life and how to meet all of it head-on.

This scene reminds me of a movie called Hero, where at one point there is a sort of temple full of artists who continue their work even when an army outside the temple start raining arrows down on them. The most badass part is that most of the arrows miss, and even when they dont, none of the artists waver in their work. Its a really powerful scene and very reminiscent of the rumbar pirates. Both get the same respect in my eyes

That ending image of Brook saying he won't break his promise to Laboon, with Luffy just dancin' in the background without a care in the world is fuckin awesome.

Man Cho ( the voice actor for brook ) does such a good job with brook but in particular the part where he says "Solo" you just hear the pain in his voice that's talent right there.

Oh yay, I was hoping to have my heart shattered today 😭😭

This is a part that is so much more hard hitting in the anime and after some time settles in to think about it. Reading it in the manga, it was rough but when I watched the anime episodes later on it was just such a bigger gut punch

Heisenberg101

While robins story is definitely tragic, this one takes the cake as the saddest backstory among the Strawhats for me

Chrome

you probably don't remember this Curtis, but you've actually seen the singing scene during a reaction stream quite a while ago, for some reason it's stuck with me lol, first time you saw it you laughed and thought they were just collapsing because they were "drunk", pretty tragic to know the truth now, hell if 4kids was still dubbing they'd have probably changed it to them collapsing from "apple juice" lol.

Middleman850

Captain Yorkie he should have socially distanced himself

Mikestrike

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but wasn't the plague that killed them the one Nami was suffering from on that jungle island?
