It’s not that they wouldn’t have accepted their loss. The problem was that they wouldn’t have put their hearts into saving Koro-sensei, so they wouldn’t have been as effective.

Which is basically the same thing. If they couldn't fully come to grips with the eventuality of the contest, there was no sense in staging it.

Is there gonna be poll any time soon, since we are I believe 8 episodes left from finishing the series, or will Bleach take over this spot?

Since I missed yesterday's episode, I'll just go ahead and cover the AssClass:Civil War arc as a whole. Not much was skipped, but there were a few. During the strategizing portion before the fighting, Isogai was giving orders to the blue team. However, he recognized that Nagisa's skills as a soldier were subpar. So he gave Nagisa free reign to act as he saw fit, which is why he was completely MIA until the moment he could inflict the most damage. At the start of the war, the red team eliminated Kataoka and Takabayashi immediately. It was mentioned that they did so to limit the blue team's options, but they went into further detail in the manga. Kataoka is one of the better commanders in the class. A squad led by her would've been a threat, no matter how they went against it. Takabayashi, on the other hand, was planning to launch a cluster of paintballs into the air and detonate them, effectively spraying the entire battlefield with ink. Under the rules, any red team member who got hit by it would've been killed, so he could've taken out a large number of opponents or singlehandedly taken either Hayame's tree or the area surrounding the flag, which were both incredibly fortified throughout much of the battle. Karma saw the threat for what it was and used his team's snipers to his advantage. Also, one thing that was hinted at in the anime, but made a bit more clear in the manga was just how mismatched the teams were. Blue team wasn't weak by any stretch, but red team was absolutely stacked with the strongest members of the class. Chiba, Hayame, Karma, Nakamura, Itona, Kimura, Terasaka... Granted they aren't invincible as you saw, but looking at it on paper, the blue team was kinda screwed. Their best fighters were Sugino, Isogai, Nagisa, Kanzaki, and Kayano. And of those, Nagisa is poor in a fight, Kanzaki was taken out early, and they took Kayano two-on-one with Hinako and Justice before she could accomplish anything. Sugino and Isogai are both predominantly close combatants, so by the opening of the battle, nearly all of the distance fighters on the blue team were out. It was sheer luck that they took out Hayame when they did. Otherwise, she soloed the rest of the match relatively easily. Or if they'd given Chiba a competent guard. those two together would've beaten everyone on the red team alone.

Curtis, people don't just change an opinion like kill or not kill just because they lost. Thats like Nazi germany conquering the world and expecting everyone to love hitler because "they lost".

Nagisa: Kurosensei is my friend! Karma: So was I...

Their emotions are now in the open instead of hidden resentment. I'd say that's a win.
