Nagisa's mom kinda pisses me off! She's completely off the rails emotionally!

I am noticing this only now on rewatch, but the episodes are really well paced in this anime. There is always something going on and we jump from impactful scene to another without much delay. It's refreshing especially if you watch a lot of shounen.

So, they skipped most of the other students interviews for the Anime. In the manga, Korosensei specifies that assassinations are allowed during the meetings. So you get Isogai stabbing at him, Sugino using that studded Baseball to try and hit him, Okada gives him a poisoned cola (into which Karma and Nakamura added powdered bugs for flavor), Hara put lethal amounts of salt into a bento box she made more him, and Hazama (Real depressing goth chick that hangs around with the bully gang) set up a cursing circle to try and curse him to death. Naturally, while all of this is going on, Korosensei is getting more and more deformed from the aforementioned poisoning and cursing (yes, the cursing did actually give him spikes for some reason) he gave them all excellent counselling for their individual goals.

And I thought the reaper was disturbing he doesn’t hold a candle to his mom.

I have to agree, these kinds of parents are just the worst. I am studying teaching and have been working on schools for quite a bit and the top 3 most common ways of screwing up a kid seem to be: Trying to live through your kid, being unable to see anything your kid does as wrong and acting like you are just your kids friend, rather than their parent. 2 of them makes a kid sad and the middle one makes a kid unbearable to the point it will end up an outcast.

The thing about the reaper was that he was impersonal and professional, that is always less fucked than someone who screws stuff up for truly personal reasons and in this case her heart was even in the right place... while her head was stuck so far up her ass that it stuck out up top. Like some deranged fuckin ouroboros... Shout out to FMA

UGH! The "living their dreams through their kids" parents used to make me want to choke them!

I do like that Nagisa realized his instincts come from the desire to protect rather than kill. Regardless of who he was faced with, he never truly wished to kill any of the antagonists, just protect his friends, Kurasama, and Professor Bitch.

The whole parent trying to control the kids life is way more common than you think especially with careers that aren't easy to get into. I've seen plenty of parents push their kids into things like sports and acting trying to relive a dead dream.

I loved and hated this episode. Part of me feels like the mom didn't get what she should have. But another part of me realizes it's not in Nagisa's character to kill his mom. Because despite how psycho she is, he sees her for what good she has done for him. I think this character trait is also why Nagisa gets along with Karma so well.
