When Nagisa dropped the knife after getting real close to Tagaoka, his entire attention was fixated on the knife, not to mention how tense he was since Nagisa was walking with a confident expression. It's kind of like how some horror movies build up tension and then break it with a jump scare or a loud noise. Nagisa essentially made him tense up to the point where the clap is unexpected and threw him off his balance.

This episode cemented Nagisa as my favourite. While Karma is a brawler, Nagisa is an assassin. That is pretty much what the show is about, so as a focus of the series, i had to go for Nagisa... Though we do have Koro-Sensei above them all.
