Personally, I never liked this scene with Armin here. I mean, it's great that he's learning to value himself. The thing that REALLY bothers me is the execution. Now, I'm not someone who says subtlety is always best, but here, they didn't just try to make his character development obvious; they outright punched you in the face with the concept and then went out of their way to shove it down your throat. In my opinion, that's bad writing. It just looks like they're trying way too hard, as well as possibly offending us by feeling they NEEDED to be this overbearingly obvious, or we wouldn't get it otherwise.
