As great as anime backstories can be, this one is right up there with the best! Damn, Guts' past was brutal!

Hey Curtis, believe it or not, his backstory is censored big time in the anime. Its much tougher in the manga, poor Guts!

Gambino was in a drunken rage in the manga, in the anime he seems more like a crazy lunatic lol

I'd look up more about Guts' backstory to get a thorough understanding of how tormented he really is. It makes some of his more interesting or off kilter mannerisms make more sense

Also in Japan it's quite normal for people of the same gender to bath together. It's why bath houses are so common and is often just a means of cleaning and socializing.

Yeah the Manga makes the backstory for Guts even more intense. Takes it from Gambino being an abusive dick to being an absolute monster.

One of the darkest parts of his backstory that is censored is the fact that a big black dude pays gambino to let him rape guts.
