BUT WAIT....THERE’S MORE!!!

Brother E

I really appreciate and value how when everything went to shit between these guys the only person who kept his ground was Zoro. Throughout the series Zoro really shows some backbone when it comes to picking up the pieces when things got tough for Luffy. He always has Luffy’s back no matter the situation and has to be the most loyal crew member to Luffy. He never once questions Luffy’s judgment or actions, he just accepted it and goes along with Luffy to the end. We all know Luffy isn’t the most serious character, in fact probably one of the goofiest. But Zoro with his seriousness always puts Luffy in check and reminds him that he’s the captain and needs to take that role responsibly, just like he did in this particular episode. Zoro is cut dry blunt in the sense of Luffy’s best interest. That’s what makes Zoro an EXCELLENT Vice Captain.

Just wait til we find out whats going on with Robin.`this is kind of a side show what happens next is the main event.

Zoro's most badass moment comes moments are still yet to come as well. I can think of one specifically that really highlights what your saying but I try to keep my comments spoiler free.

This is exactly why I fucking hate Ussop. All because of a stupid ship, he decides to betray and attempt to kill luffy, you know the guy who saved his fucking village and love interest. Some people claim it's "character development" for Ussop to not see himself as weak anymore or to not be a coward anymore, but this "development" doesn't last for very long in the overall story.

Man the hate for Usopp is strong on the goosh! It's a shame, truly.

DarkRaven

That scene where The Going Merry was "Crying" was so well inserted

GoldArthur

This fight wasn't just about the ship. It was about Usopp trying to take a next step in his dream. I don't see how people don't understand, that, for Usopp to remain true to his character, he HAD to leave and duel Luffy.

Chrome

honestly I have to feel the most for Chopper during this, this fight was obviously hurting Luffy and everyone else, but Choppers just so innocent and childlike, he's a doctor, his job is to heal people, so just having to leave one of his friends behind beat up like that and not being able to do anything but leave him some supplies must sting, especially after Usopp told him they're not friends anymore.

It was symbolic tears. The water coming from Merrys eyes. Unless of course the ship has tear ducts, which would be something else. Edit: Seems you are aware, oh well.

"Development doesnt last for very long in the overall story". Well, he's left the crew so of course it doesnt?🤔 Its still development, and great development at that. The thing he said last episode is actually true you know. Zoro joined Luffy. Nami joined Luffy. Sanji joined Luffy. Chopper joined Luffy. Usopp, was setting out to be a pirate on his own and was invited into the crew. I saw someone mention that Usopp is the one who least sees and respects Luffy as a captain, and there might be some truth to that. The other strawhats joined for Luffy, because of Luffy. Usopp, didnt.

V_VMat

What I said yesterday that got obliterated one way or another: "I have always hated the way Luffy delivered the news to Usopp, starting with the new ship instead of explaining the situation. Granted Usopp didn't believe it after either..." -And some of Gooshers explained it's in Luffy's nature be like that, but still... Why I said that now is to tie up what I'm thinking now; there was friction between Usopp and crew hidden beneath and it would have come out eventually, so "better now than later, in a more dire situation", right? I kinda never before though of this, but what Samuel said earlier how others joined Luffy, while Usopp was invited. That might have been Oda's way to set this up right from the start, who knows. Oda does things like that and you see it only after it happens! God bless that man and his storytelling skills!!

Aeco

Starting from the argument last episode (I think), this starts off the longest period in One Piece where Luffy doesn't smile, if I remember correctly. Some people don't notice that but I'm sure you will (even if only in retrospect), as you've probably watched the next episode by now. It's getting quite somber around here...

Miasimon

I've seen a lot of Usopp hate and I don't understand any of it. Usopp doing all of this "just for a ship"? Well, every last member of the crew has something they'd act irrational about if you took it away from them suddenly and without warning. Usopp was just acting irrational because he didn't have the full picture and the Merry was just as precious to him as Luffy's hat is to him.

I dont understand why people have a problem with usopp, hes honestly one of my top 3 or 4 favorite on the crew. I always thought it was really cool that ussop was willing to duel luffy for the ship. The ship, even if its broken, was something usopp really cared about deeply, and one of the central themes of one piece is to fight for what you care about even if the odds are against you. Sure maybe he should have valued his friendship with luffy more, but I never got the feeling he hated luffy at any point in this duel, he simply decided he should go his own way, which is a logical thought for him to have considering how out of his league most of the crew is strength wise. And yet even considering that, he was willing to fight luffy so that he could take the merry (which he believed could still be fixed) with him on his own journey. I honestly think that really shows usopps courage and resolve.

Tony Gilbert King

I like the little things like sanji showing how serious it is by throwing a punch merrys symbolic tears even the repeated flashbacks didnt feel annoying because that was basically luffy's and the crews thoughts the whole time and thats not mentioning how well usopp fought here and poor chopper T_T

Kamui

The first we ever saw Luffy crying (except as a kid tho). It hits real hard because we never seen this kind of Luffy in pain

astherphoenixxx96

i think this fight if anything shows that with preparation, usopp can be a tough fighter. if only he had a way of predicting what kind of pwers his next opponent has, he can dish out some decent competition to anyone

Daniel Lima

Where were all these attacks when he fought Franky's crew -_- The impact dial alone could have taken out a few js

Zoro in this episode shows up why he's the vice-captain. The way he reminds Luffy that he needs to stay strong as the captain or else the crew will fall apart is a testament that the crew needs a backbone like Zoro for the crew to stay afloat during times of emotional instability among the crewmates.

Ali6B

Ussop is the best. He is mentally weak. He is fragile enough to question his dream and his own will to accomplish it. He questions his place on the ship and how much his friendship means to the crew and whether it is enough to overlook his lack of strength. No other member comes close to the reality that Ussop represents for all of us normal people. He is emotionally fragile because he views himself as the next most 'useless' member of the crew and that he is easily replaceable. You cannot replace any another crew member because they are who are all masters in their craft. Usopp is the only one who doesn't have a permanent, "We need you" position on the ship. He just lost 200million and then gets told with a smile, "Hey we need a new crew member who isn't going to fail on our huge journey".. and we have people saying, "I HATE USSOP, he iS weAk AnD hE DisReSPecT caPtAin"
