1. Mugen was going in for a strike. She would have hit him first and he would miss. But because she pulled back his strike hit her before he could change. Mugen killed he because she allowed him. 2. The goverment of the time would hire assassins to chase and get criminals thats not too strange of a thing its like a bounty hunter. 3. Musashi Miyamoto is probably in the top 5 most renown samurai maybe even 1 or 2. He had a undefeated record of 61 duels (second is 33 duels) wrote the book of 5 rings. Was a philospher too. He invented a strange two sword style. He was also rumored to fight with a wooden sword made from a boat oar. Eccentric to say the least. He also lived during the time of the show.
