One of the best JoJo fights of all time. Also, cheating is fair as long as it goes unnoticed. This is a battle of wits, not fairness. And Joseph cheated too.

This episode is a perfect representation of my problem with part 3: most fights just take a turn to make Jotaro looks cool. Here it's a perfect fight for Joseph, the trickster of the Joestar family, the guy who can control water with his hamon, the guy who can literally predict your next line, and he looses in a fight involving liquid, just so Jotaro can take the fight.

These two episodes are jojo masterpieces, two of my absolute favorites if not favorites. another anime Kaiji, is similar, gambling, but with incredibly high stakes

If you love poker, please check out kaiji, im sure youve been recommended it before, I know you dont have a lot of free time, and im dealing with a lot of personal and health issues so I cant pay 100$ for you to check out a episode or two unfortunately, but if you like poker youll like it

Yup, revealing the cheating after the fact is pointless because the loser already forfeited his soul. Catching it durinmg the match would be different. But this is by far one of my favorite jojo battles!

That one scene where he gets pissed about Joseph intentionally mispronouncing his name. Reminds me of a similar scene from The Sting with Paul Newman and Robert Shaw. "It's Lonnegan!" Also I love me a good game of poker. My work's Christmas party had gaming tables and I spent most of the night taking everyone else's chips at Texas Hold 'Em.

So this is a bit of an oddity in the music reference sourcing, in that Daniel J. D'Arby is named after 80's guitarist ans singer Sananda Francesco Maitreya's old stage name, Terence Trent D'Arby.

To be fair curtis, in pro wrestling matches and story lines if the ref doesn't see the cheating during the match it doesn't count.

Fun fact, in chess an illegal move can only be challenged while the game is in play. As a result they actually had to add a rule that only a legal move could end the game, as people would call checkmate with an illegal move, ending the game and thus not allowing the move to be questioned.
