Kaoru laid all his cards on the table now! I was rooting for him to do that; now I just hope it pays off for him.

Definitely another great episode. I always loved this episode since the first time I watched it. Being introduced to Sentaro's family put a smile on my face. The scene during and after Kaoru played "Someday My Prince Will Come" just sooths my soul.

Yea, Sentaro’s interactions with his siblings was REALLY cool! It showed a great side of him! 😊

Personally I find it fitting that Kaoru played a song from Snow White. Since out of all the Disney Princesses that were around in the 60s and have come since. Snow White is the one that seems to best fit the Japanese ideal of womanhood. Black-haired, red-lipped, pale skinned, domestic, virtuous and kind-hearted. Now while Ritsuko may not fit the physical part of that description. She does fit it personality wise. I don't know, just a thought.

Jazz References: Curtis made an accidental Jazz reference in the episode at 4:10 in. He called himself a Watermelon Man, and Watermelon Man is the name of a Jazz Tune played by the Jazz pianist who came later named Herbie Hancock. Sarah Vaughan is a, or is possibly the standard for Jazz singers, she is famous for her rendition of the song Send In The Clowns, perhaps a bit on the nose for Kaoru and Sentaro as they are the clowns of this episodes... The episode title was Someday My Prince Will Come and it was played by Kaoru later in the episode based on the version which is basically the standard for that turn Bill Evans Portrait in Jazz. If one looks carefully, they can see that Kaoru's is modeled on Bill Evans from that album (Bill Evans started as a classical pianist but switched to jazz... and eventually grew out his hair so not to look like a square). Someday My Prince Will Come is a tune taken from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, that is to say, it was written for that movie in 1937 and was covered by a myriad of musicians: Bill Evans, Miles Davis, and even Herbie Hancock. I do not know if they playing a specific tune when they were locked in the basement, it sounded to me like a lock of basics mixed together.

My own personal thoughts on this episode is that I originally stayed for the Jazz because I hated the love triangles... or square... Like, Kaoru finally does something truthful at the end with Ri-chan, but a lot of this, and I mean a lot, is basically because these kids cannot be honest with themselves. And yeah, they are teenagers, but why can't Kaoru tell Sentaro that the reason he hit and took the handkerchief is because he saw Ri-chan crying? Just ugh for me....
