Gotta guess your expectations were low because of the people who say it isn't as good who don't know a good thing when it slaps them in the face. Does it have the same depth as the last 2 arcs? No, but this arc alone is still better than a lot of other shows, never mind arcs.

I never really appreciated this arc when I was little. I kinda thought it was boring. Glad I'm rewatching this, it's so good.

The Three Kings arc has always been my favorite story line in Yu Yu Hakusho. It doesn't feel like it's being forced ( as so many have commented on it over the years) everything just kinda plays out naturally with next to no fluff filling out the episodes. If something isn't too important, the show just experiences a bit of a time skip like this episode covering 6 months of events. It just works.
