that intro with this episode...famous last words XD watching your reactions is a huge part of my day too. One piece usually releases when I get home from work, so I am always looking forward to watching it after dinner. Makes my day. The way you are genuinly excited and enjoying these is just so damn refreshing in a world as cynic and fucked up as ours.

He is fighting a member of the same group mihawk belongs to... Remember how mihawk handled things, he literally took out a fleet because he was bored and beat zoro with a tiny knife without really trying. So luffy fighting someone from that group on equal terms seems impossible.

The thing is it's crazy because Luffy he just 17 years old and really know nothing about the world that is true but he shouldn't go in cocky underestimating others who is older and has more experience know throught the series u will see Luffy struggle I mean not question he's alive not really a spoiler there

And there we go. OP gave us a grim reminder that this is one of the 7 warlords/shichibukai we're dealing with. Luffy cant just walk up to and beat him. The very notion is ridiculous really.

Aaaand here it is.. 2nd favorite moment of the arc, and its here when Luffy really finds out the difference in power between him and a Warlord. You said you couldn't wait til Luffy got his hands on him, careful what you wish for xD

I would argue that other shows do things as well as this moment. An example is the first showing in bleach of the main villain(I will not go into specifics so as not to spoil it). One piece does quite a bit better than most shounen, but i would argue that it is more connected to their characterization.

Probably one of the biggest lessons in the One Piece series to learn is that you can't always beat a powerful opponent with spirit,determination, and heart, especially if they are a Warlord!

Crocodile is a favorite villain of mine as I self identify with him. He acts like I do if I was a douchbag lol I always figure that's how I'd turn out if I became an arrogant douchbag villain lol we even have a scar in the same place

Well Curtis, if you thought every villain in One Piece would go down easily, here is the proof that you were wrong. Some of them are really really strong, even stronger than Luffy.

Love the high and lows of this episode. Start off by thinking Luffy's going to kick some ass to Crocodile not even trying and catching him on his hook. First Smokers smoke and now Crocodiles sand. I remember thinking back to when I first watched this and thought, "how is Luffy ever going to defeat these guys when he can't even touch them."

You'll see in One Piece, the straw hats taking the L only make the victory that much sweeter later on!

Crocodile is probably my absolute favorite One Piece villain. Just because he FEELS like a proper villain. Maybe it's that mob boss thing he has going for him. I remember this episode being the first time I thought "wait, the Straw Hats can actually LOSE fights?"
