The eclipse has come and gone and the Fire Nation is about to assert their dominance. The only thing I can see that might stem the tide is a combination of Zuko and Uncle Iroh!

You figure alout of people died in this battle and didn’t show it.

One small thing I noticed that’s gonna stick with me is the way katara was smiling as aang was shedding tears. Sokka told toph before that when their mom died katara was the only one that stayed strong and held it together and you can see her doing it for aang here, it’s a really nice touch and shows how much thought goes into each of these moments

The thing I love about this is that the heroes just flat out fuck up, like thats so rare. There was an important and in retrospect obvious factor, the fact that high ups in ba sing sea knew about the invasion, that they didn't consider fully. The 3rd season already started off with "there is no longer a major formal resistance to the fire nation" with the earth kingdom defeated and now, as you said, basically all of the good guy's supporting cast showed up and they all got taken down, it puts our heroes in the most dire straits they've ever been in.

Miklar Sihn

Yeah and they have actually managed to make us believe it might go somewhere for a while even though we see the moment azula learns about the eclipse in the last season.

I think you didnt get a certain something that happened in the episode, and its a shame since it was amazing! The thing Zuko did against Ozai was redirection of Lightning, the technique Iroh taught him last season and he could never use it. This was the first time he ever used the technique and to me that moment just melts together with the answer to the question, your uncles rubbed off on you hasnt he? Yes, he has. And then Zuko demonstrating the technique he was taught by him. Zuko never fought Ozai either, he just redirected the lightning and left so there was no fight going on. Here it looked like Zuko could hold his own against Ozai but consider the fact that 2 people in the world can use the technique Zuko used. It doesnt exist as far as people are concerned so not being prepared for it doesnt actually say that much of your skill level. Its kinda lika having a martial arts match and suddenly the other person grows a 3rd arm. Maybe you're good enough to deal with it but the moment when it first appears is "Wtf!?" and I doubt you can react. Ciao

Thou it tackles complex subjects, it is still a show aimed at children. It is a great show, I can't wait to see Iroh :) Na sing se!!!!!!!!!!WL.

Something occurred to me when watching this time. This is a reach, probably looking too far into it. When they say Azula isn't even trying to win, I realized she didn't have Mei or Ty Lee with her. It's possible the animators just didn't know a good way to work them in, but it certainly confirms that she wasn't trying to win. However, even if she wasn't intending to win, it seems out of character for Azula not to keep every advantage she can get -- unless she actually wanted to avoid them being injured by the invasion forces. It seems unlikely for Azula, but they are the only two people she seems to show any kinship toward.

I knew youd' be happy with the prediction! Was hard not to say anything about it during the video. I of course wouldnt' spoil it, it was jsut hard to say anything without it going towards that.

Are you going to watch Korra when you finish Avatar?

SpazBoysComedy

Interesting... Yea, I wonder if she actually has enough of a connection with anyone to worry about their well-being...

Michael orejuela

Korra is a butchered sequel of the original avatar, there's legit hour long videos on youtube of people ranting about how bad it is.

Anonymous

A lot of people hate Korra, but a lot of people love it too. It's just something you'll have to decide for yourself if you do end up watching it.

It really isn't. While being a very different show in tone and themes, with a subpar second season, the other seasons are fantastic with some great villains. It is overall a worthy sequel.

Hey you demented ol bastard, just wait till you get to the finale where Aang achieves the 3rd form of Ultra Instinct. It's gunna be a good one.

OK. This is way better written than the war from Naruto. The war arc was really badly written and had little to no planning. The end of it sucked ass too.

Anyone else upset we never get to see Iroh break out of prison

This is either my favorite or 2nd favorite episode. In any case, it's my favorite in the series so far chronologically. It has amazing choreography with Aang, Sokka and Toph chasing Azula, showing how good she is even without any bending. Zuko's character development finally comes together when he confronts Ozai, who we finally get to see more of. Zuko redirecting Ozai's lightning is the best "no u" moment of all time! Iroh's escape from prison isn't shown, but doing justice to his escape scene would be pretty hard, so being told of it might've been for the best. The Fire Nation's counterattack is also quite the "no u" with them having copied the Mechanist's work and taken it way further. The Gaang having to leave the adults behind is a very sad scene, but it's followed by an awesome cliffhanger, with Zuko following the Gaang, for good reasons this time. All around an amazing episode in all regards!

Ahh Zuko went to tell his dad happy Father’s Day

I didn't mind the writing in Naruto, but I agree that the storytelling here in Avatar is absolutely exceptional!
