No he's crazy and needs to go down

V_VMat

I don't know what fist full of spirit power to the face would do to the doctor, but I think Yusuke should do that. (Probably something like best case; doctor is KOed, best-worst case; he dies, worst case; nothing, or that's what I think anyway)

Glad you picked up on the shift in tone. Funny that the dark tournament is actually the more light-hearted arc.

And so Chapter Black saga is in full swing now. Does the Doctor's scalpel ability remind you of a certain smug prick from Naruto?

Unpopular opinion: Chapter Black over Dark Tournament

flameenforcer619

He's planning on infecting a whole city with a deadly disease, he already sliced open a bunch of other nurses and doctors, and he wants demons to overrun the planet. I know killing humans isn't exactly in Yusuke's job description, but in this situation, he has no other choice.

While the storytelling definitely goes up in chapter black, the dark tournament was for sure more grandiose and as f-kd up as yknowwho is, toguro was always more of an intimidating and fleshed out character to me. Plus I loved the introduction of all these demon sects and new characters in dark tournament

I liked the shadow guy, I hope this did not kill him.

GoldArthur

Yusuke's always worried about becoming more like Toguro, in the back of his head, though. In his mind, killing a human would make him more like him.

August B Denys

I always love the fight scene between Yusuke and the Doctor in the hallway because the animation ramps up. And we can also see that the Doctor isn't a match for Yusuke, but what we can see is that Yusuke has taken life before, but why is a demon life worth less than a human life? Also, I saw this for the first time... Kuwabara see's Yusuke's spirit gun... How? More on this later.

hearing goku say "I don't know how to save the planet" is hilarious

Gotta agree with Koenma on this one. You gotta love a good villain. And The Doctor falls into that category in my book. I can't remember what his whole deal was in terms of why he wanted to destroy humanity. But the idea of a Doctor who's sworn to do no harm. Going through with a plan like the demon portal and infecting insects. Is just too deliciously twisted. Also, do we know if he killed all the Hospital's doctors? Because if he did it's gonna go through some hard times.

No wonder you and Nux Taku like each other so much. You're both sociopaths lmao

Hahaha Yusuke is just glad he passed out from blood loss so he could dodge, couldn't care less that he's bleeding out on the floor

I'd say dark tournament is more shonen and chapter black is more seinen

Focus too much on not becoming something and often you unnoticingly become that very thing.

Didn’t they show times before where if the spiritual power is strong enough even non-spiritually award people can see it?

Anonymous

I don't remember if they *all* had the same reasons, but I'll point to the title of the arc, Chapter Black.

Jake from SF

Not going to lie, I get the story telling of trying not to kill a human for the protagonist but there's a reason people love characters like Deadpool. I think most people deep down have the, "just kill this dude for the greater good and that's that".

Doctors gotta go, no better than a demon.

Richie Roberts

The fact is that most people that think that have never killed another person before and have never had to live with that on their conscience. Killing someone takes a heavy toll on you (unless you're a psychopath) and that's the point being raised here. Really masterful storytelling here by Togashi-sensei, as always. This is my favorite arc for that very reason.

The creator of Yu Yu Hakusho is the same creator of Hunter X Hunter so apparently he just really likes greaser villains with fishies hahaha
