As much as Goku would love this tournament, I would hate for him to be here. Goku in episode 1 of Dragon Ball probably isn't winning this tournament, but he'd hold his own. The Goku that fought Jackie Chun wins this tournament but not easily. The Goku that fought Tien wins against this shows strongest character after a close fight. The Goku that fought Piccolo wins against that same character with ease. The Goku that fought Nappa and Vegeta solo's this shows entire cast. And I don't say that to knock on Yu Yu Hakusho. Dragon Ball just gets insane with power.

Fun fact: Toguro and Perfect Cell have the same English voice actor. Which seems appropriate since the characters are pretty similar as well.

This is one of the best Tournament arc's in anime, above the Chunin Exams but below the first few DB Tournaments (all the ones before the Cell Games which i don't consider a real tournament) but it is close to the DB Tournaments which shows how much credit im giving the "Dark Tournament"

Come on now...all DB tournaments were mostly comedic with a few exceptions like the piccolo jr fight. That's gotta just be nostalgia talking. YYH Dark Tournament is levels above anything in DB

I love how they build up Toguro’s character and showcase his strength by letting him give Yusuke a taste of his power. I remember as a kid, watching him destroy that parking deck with only 60% of his power and seeing Yusuke’s face in awe. That was the first time I ever remember feeling truly scared for a main character in anime. Yusuke and Kuwabara barely handled him at 20%, I didn’t even want to think about what he could at 60%.

I was so hoping that we'd get to see more of Genkai, I think that's Granny GILF's name. I absolutely LOVE Linda Young's voice for her. It just sounds so much like her Freeza voice it's nostalgic to hear it.
