I believe the swastika-like symbol on the monk guy's forehead is actually a Buddhist Manji symbol. There are two types, the Omote Manji that turns left (the opposite of the Nazi swastika) and the Ura Manji that turns in the same direction as the Nazi swastika but I believe the Nazi one is tilted, so it's still not the same symbol. Based on the website I found, the left turning Omote Manji, which was actually incorporated into the seal on Neji Hyuga's forehead in the Naruto manga but censored in the anime version, represents infinite mercy. The right turning Ura Manji that the monk here has represents intellect and strength. I literally started watching this show again because i couldn't remember for the life of me anything past the genkai arc. I got a horrible memory too, but at least curtis has an excuse

Forgot how quickly this show progresses its story at the start and Curtis calling out Genkai as a GILF already, man you're gonna be in for a treat later. :D Now that you have met Genkai I will mention her voice actress is the old school voice of Frieza from DBZ.

Now you might have know this already (due to other commentators) but Linda Young (the voice of Genkai here) is also the, now former and original English Funimation Dub voice for Freeza whom was later recast (for Dragon Ball Kai i believe) to be voiced by Chris Ayres. (the person you hear in Super is Chris Ayres by the way)
