You will definitely feel like you see Gon, Leorio, Kurapika and Killua in this series. Even the atmosphere of the story it's so similar to HxH. <3

This will be interesting for me to watch along with you as I am reacting to these on my own YouTube channel now. If anyone is interested my YouTube channel name is called Crohnic Gamer spelled exactly that way. Currently on yyh episode 49. Inuyasha episode 9 and fate/zero episode 2. You will really love this series curtis. As someone who watched Hunter Hunter first just like you I wasn't sure what to expect going into yyh but it is truly fantastic. It's what I came to expect from Togashi. This will be a fun ride for sure. I know it is for me.

One of the things that makes Yu Yu Hakusho so great is how relatable Yusuke is. His life is far from perfect. His dad's a no show, his mom's a drunk, his teachers disdain him, and with the exception of a few people, no one seems to understand him. As a result, he's rude, brash, lashes out, and gets himself into even more trouble. However, despite all of this, he has a good heart, and that, is what grants him a second chance at life. It's a refreshing change from the idealistic, pure-hearted main characters of other anime.

Alot of people will tell you this but this is the series before HxH by the same guy. Personally i think the main characters are slightly better in this but overall story is slightly better in HxH. The other thing is id give the acting a little to ramp up. This is probably one of the best early dubs the west got but like in even later dubs the actors have to "find their voice" for the characters and that happens id say halfway or less of arc 1 for most characters. Its also the first or one of the first anime I can remember where the main character is dead episode 1. Don't worry Kuwabara IS THA MAN.

I will watch this series with you. I didn't watch yyh before. So it will be a fun ride for me too. I will watch this series in the same schedule as you! I think this will be a nice experience to do it in this way!^^ The first episode was awesome. Can't wait for the next ones!!!!

Watch it the manga has a terrible ending. It ends abruptly due to Togashi being fed up with Shonen Jump and deciding to end the manga. The anime fixes it and actually makes it satisfying

Damn, the moment with Kuwabara at Yusuke's wake always gets me. Honestly, the entire wake scene is great. I was bawling my eyes out the entire time.

I swear, my brother says that Kuwabara's voice is one of the things he hates the most about the Yu Yu Hakusho dub, but I just don't get it. He's one of the best parts in my opinion.

Just a ridiculous amount of heart in this anime. I teared up a few times watching your reaction even though I've watched the series many times through. I love that you appreciated Yusuke's one liners and Boton's voice acting already. Kuwabara (remind you of knuckle?) and Keiko, they're all such great characters. Even the school principle who was just in a few short scenes feels so fleshed out and like a real person. This is something that only Togashi is capable of. I don't know if YYH will dethrone HxH for you Curtis, but I'm pretty sure it will be in the top 2 :)

Time to watch a great show about a Japanese teenager in a green outfit who tries to save someone from getting hit by a vehicle and gets told, by a pretty blue haired lady in charge of the recently deceased, that his death was over all meaningless. Now why does that sound familiar...

this is so nostalgic for me, it's been years since I've seen yu yu hakusho, it's definitely a fun series to watch, shockingly enough the entire anime's dub is still view able on youtube every episode. Something I didn't know till sort of recently though is that they cut content from the beginning of the series in the anime, there's a few short adventures that happen early on that they removed for some reason or another, probably to speed up the pace. it's a weird thing that seems to happen with adaptations of Yoshihiro Togashi's series.

Yusuke is probably one of my favorite anime protagonists he's got your quips zingers all the one liners you can take like that one about not talking because it makes you sound stupid that's a keeper and he can usually back it up but yeah I forgot how rough the 1st episode is with how his life was and the impact his death has on those around him

Is Blue Hair a requirement to be a guide of the recently deceased? First Aqua, Eris from Konosuba and now Botan in this. Also to make you feel even worse for his Mom Curtis. It's implied throughout the series, but never actually stated. That she's a prostitute. So yeah there's a reason she wanted him to apply himself.

This is one of the most respected and universally loved anime of all time Curtis. Seriously, every time I watch one of the early 2000s toonami anime I get the strongest nostalgia and emotions. Toonami was my childhood so seeing people excited about something that was as close to me as a best friend is special. To this day yuyu hakusho is still considered one of the best and credited with being one of the pinnacle anime to responsible for bringing anime to the west.

One thing they cut was a monster eating kids it was pretty graphic in the manga. Also Funimation also has the whole series viewable free without a account on their website.
