Holy hell watching it with you this is the first time I noticed Winry and Ed end up having kids??? And the grown up mei is cool too. Never noticed that.

Did you notice how much Ed looks like Hohenheim in the end there? I can’t get over that :) I know you’ve already filmed the blooper-video but I really recommend you check out the ovas! Especially teachers and Roy's. And the 4-kooma Theater shorts too! Tbh I just don’t want fmab to be over yet :) thank you so much for reacting to this awesome series

One more thing to notice is that ,at the end the white coat Winry is wearing at the train station is actually the same one that Ed was wearing in the begining of the episode when Al and Ed first got home

I don’t know if you read manga or not, but the FMA manga expands on a few things! Episode 30 of FMAB is a whole volume in the manga, and it’s so chilling to see Mustang, Hawkeye, Hughes, and Armstrong do horrible things in wartime.

As far as"more" goes there is a short comic a few years into the future the author made? And also, its no continuation but there's always the 2003 series :) Watching this with you made me feel and realize how greatly this really tied up the series and made me feel the great journey Ive been on with this show. I might never have actually felt this before from this series like this time, when I first finished it I read part by part and then you grow so used to everything about it being the way it is and what it is. But yeah, this really was a really great series and I could really feel it this time around :)

I actually have never seen this series before you started watching so thank you for getting me into it. I still would have to say Scar, Al, Mustang are my favorites. Oh and btw in the thumbnail al looks like hokage naruto from the back which is pretty cool in my book.

Some fun information: the final chapter and the final episode were released the same day. Arakawa had worked with the anime producers to have both ready at the same time. The original VA for Al in the '03 anime came back as young Hohenheim. Additionally, the way they get the sound for Al's voice is by doing their lines with a bowl on the head. The VA for Ed was often not shown the script ahead of time so that the reactions could be more genuine. So when Ed finds out what's on the other side of the gate of truth, after the stuff with Shou Tucker, and a lot of stuff toward the end are Vic's actual reactions.

For me...the moment that hit hard, a lesson that stuck with Ed and Al through the whole series, and is meme'd a lot is Nina Tuckers transformation into a Chimera and following death. It is always something to re-watch that moment, when Ed realizes everything. There is just the look of shock in his eyes, and immediate anger. For me its a question was he really mad at Tucker, or more so at himself for not realizing it. I always felt like Ed was more mad at his inability to save her, over what her father had done to her.

Yes, the bloopers are amazing! Just the icing on the cake to the perfection that is Brotherhood. Funny enough, Brotherhood is one of the only anime series I've ever bought. (Mainly just watch off Crunchyroll.) I just felt it was too good not to own in its entirety.

Fun fact: Mustang using the Philosopher's Stone to heal Havoc is actually something added to the anime. While the picture of him at the end of the anime shows him standing perfectly fine with Rebecca and Breda, the picture shown in the original manga was actually of him going through physical therapy and recovering the old fashioned way.

FMAB is almost perfection. I think the pacing is a bit too fast, there are not enough filler moments to help build our attachment to the characters, and the post credit scenes were an awful idea. But here I'm just being picky cos it's still an amazing series. Seriously though, post credit scenes are a terrible idea and should never be used in an anime ever again. FMAB❤

My thought is that Ed was so small because he was sustaining both his own body and Al's body within the gate of truth for all those years. So while he had some growth during the series (Due to switching to the lighter automail apparently), it's not until Al has his body back where Ed suddenly skyrockets in height at the end which I think is pretty great and symbolic of the burden he carried during the series, because of their mistake. I also appreciate how much Ed looks like Hohenheim as well, almost as if he has started wearing his dad's old clothes.

If you want more FMA, there's a couple extra episodes (like "Teacher's First Love" and "The Blind Alchemist") that aren't part of the main plot, but are great side stories to watch!.

From start to finish FMAB is one of my favorite stories ever with probably in my opinion one of the best endings ever we lost some friends and close allies but the elrics got the ending they fought for and deserved anything less after everything they went through wouldve sucked also I wonder how eds fighting style changed after losing his alchemy because no way he's not getting into trouble on his travels oh right his leg is still automail bet he got tricked out

Actually consider Ed's last words about sacrafice and then combine those words with Pains from Naruto. In essence the only reason Ed can make a joke of it is he got a happily ever after. Interesting that their words are similar but because of the outcome of both characters different idealogies are born. Makes you wonder what type of person Ed would have become is he didnt get Alphonse back just like Nagato lost Yahiko.

if you remember the first episode the freezing alchemist was trying to destroy central and the establishment with lines like "you don't understand". So its more than likely he somehow knew about all the corruption and evil, and his character was a little crazy to throw you off that trail of actually believing him. (I'd also like to add at the end mustang had 4 badges on his shoulder in the photograph which is the rank of fuhrer woohoo)

I am fully in line with your ideas about this being the 'perfect' series. Throughout all the mangas I've read and animes I have watched, this series and the manga that it was based on have always remained my favourite. The way this anime was produced, it felt like everything seemlessly coming together. In fact, the final 64th episode of the anime pretty much coincided with the final 108th chapter of the manga (and keep in mind that the manga was a monthly one). Like a human being, this series is always in motion. There is not a single wasted episode. Nearly every scene teaches you something new about the characters or the world they inhabit. From the mangaka, from the publishers, from the animators and from the voice actors, this series has been nothing but the purest labour of love, and it shows. I do not believe in perfection, but this is definitely as close to it as us lowly humans can get.

lol, just no. FMAB's ending is pretty good, because it tied up everything that have been proposed since the beginning -like Ed discovering about the two portals connected and etc. Moreover, FMAB villains and characters in general are far way better developed imo, as well as the story. The only thing 2003 version made as great as FMAB or even better is the soundtrack, but I really like both of them. Just because is a ''''''happy'''''' ending it is unoriginal? Fuck off

This was a blast. Thank you Curtis. I never would have watched this show had you not reacted to it. I've been putting off watching it for years and I feel somewhat stupid for doing that considering all of the anime I've watched that doesn't hold a candle to this series. It was a good experience watching the episode and then watching your reaction to every episode. I was able to soak up any info I missed during the first viewing with your reactions. It also prolonged the great experience. I'm sad it's now over.
