The Chimera ants are growing in size, number & strength, but watching Kite/Slots fight them is gonna be awesome! Gon and Killua are already learning a lot about battling these creatures, but the lessons better keep on coming because they are definitely at a disadvantage!

SO whats your impression of the arc so far big guy?

The only explanation I can think of without having seen the episode that explains it. Goes something like this, the Chimera ants have proven themselves incredibly adaptable. After consuming humans they've grown prone to adopting human ideas and concepts. We also know that humans are capable of unlocking Nen, it stands to reason that after being exposed to Nen. Ranmotto could potentially unlock his own. Worst possible person to have figure it out though, a guy with a grudge.

This goes back to what Wing-san talked about in the first arc...it isn't the preferred method, however if you're exposed to Nen in certain ways (in this case, Gon's punch right to the gut), your pores will be forcefully opened up and voila. You now have creepy, power hungry ant fuckers that can now start learning how to utilize Nen. Makes the situation a bit more complicated....

It’s explained next episode...

If he was a human he would be dead before those pores opened. 😳😁 shit is gonna get so good now 🤤😜

When you said you dont like how the odds are stacking up, I got a good chuckle. "I dont like these odds" is pretty much this arc in a nutshell. If you remember, Wing said that all humans have the potential to unlock Nen. The chimera ants are made using lots of humans and are essentially part human. So it shouldn't come as a surprise when they start discovering Nen. Finally: Gon's Scissor attack is basically Kuwabara's sword from Yu Yu Hakusho, which I hope you get around to watching someday. It's by the same mangaka as HxH and has earned a rightful place in many a "Top anime of all time" list.

Remember how Wing unlocked Gon and Killua's nen by blasting them with energy, but not killing them?

Chris D. Jones

I think your episodes ahead but just in case do you remember how gon and killua unlocked their nen? Wing punched them really hard to open their pores. Remember what happened to Rammot last episode?

SpazBoysComedy

Oh yea, (unsurprisingly) I had forgotten about Wing’s teachings on acquiring Nen... Thanks, Guys. 😊

What are your thoughts on the chimera ant arc before and after THE LEGENDARY EPISODE 85

SpazBoysComedy

I could go into it here, but you'll certainly be hearing all my thoughts on that before and after episode 85 in those vids. :-)

Imaginebreaker7

He's looking for hope that they can beat the chimera ants? Poor poor man we knew you well.

i love your " kid in a candy shop" look xD its funny and awesome that you, an old fat guy, loves anime as much as everyne here at the goosh :D

Loro Lukic

Rammot was already 2v1 with Gon and Killua pre nen, but now he has Nen too! And he's only a soldier ant, not a squadron leader, not a royal guard etc. Some great perspective for you.

Heisenberg101

Curtis, you really need to know that kite just taught gon that you need to 'crush their heads' to finish the job, its a very important piece of dialog that you need to remember if possible

Heisenberg101

So gon and killua were having some trouble in a 2v1 against that guy even without him having nen, lol. and he's just a captain under colt, not even a squad leader, or a royal guard

Most important thing to take away from this episode is how horrible it must be to live in that ant nest, considering it's literally made of shit.
