Basically they let him do his work but they have Yamato watching him 24/7 cause of his connection to him “ Not sure if you saw that filler” and knowing him so well.

Nah he doesn't. Orochimaru has moved onto other stuff. His "get all jutsus phase" is over so he don't want the Sharingan anymore. Now he just wants to be an amazing mom.

If this arc were a video game, Sasuke's character level should just show as ??? to every single ninja on that island, it's fascinating to me because you know there's no way anyone currently existing on earth should reasonably pose any threat to Sasuke, besides Naruto himself, and even all the Kage at this point could only be potentially vaguely annoying at most. So it's fun seeing this maxed out End Game character just traveling about the Ninja world.

That’s pretty much what it is though. This whole arc basically uses the exploding human mission to explore Sasuke’s emotional state and his relationship with the village. That’s really what it’s about. Plus it gives us the fates of characters like Yamato, Orochimaru, and Kabuto.
