Even though he's a little bit spastic at times, I like Leorio... And damn! He really masterfully played that whole thing of "is he dead or alive" about Blue Balls! Well done, Leo! Now, we just gotta see if he can get out of this next hole that was dug by getting Blue Balls out of there.

The next episode really cuts to the *heart* of the situation... ...I'll show myself out.

Yeah, but Leorio's final wager though... it's a very Curtis kind of wager

Phillip Ribbink

You forget Curtis while the character may be a gambler, the author may very well not be. It's kind of like how you always complain about the confusion of right hook and right cross. Or when they mis-portray hypnosis.

I'm pretty sure in the manga it showed that ex-examiner's head flying off instead of Censorship-no-Jutsu. (not complaining just pointing something out.)

So regarding you wondering , yes he was about to say "I surrender" however in the manga, Kurapika's punch cut him off in the middle of the sentence "I surrender" so he'd have had to say it again for it too apply (or for Pika to kill him) I'm not sure if this is the fault of the anime adaptation itself or just the captions but that should clear it up anyway
