Wow! This is my first real impressions of Hisoka and I'm intimidated! I really like his creepy cool demeanor, but I'm wondering exactly where he fits into the world of Hunters.

No, Curtis Hisoka was merely “playing examiner” he’d not with the actual hunter association. Also the reason he hasn’t passed precious exams is likely cause he doesn’t give a fuck since he could just try again next year. He has been stated to have killed an examiner he didn’t like.

Hisoka is easily hunter standard and would be considered better than the majority of pros, he failed the last test because he killed an examiner so he's retaking the test this time.

Hisoka is my favorite character in the series. He is a very unique character with a fighting style that just makes you want to see more of him on-screen.

About the komunikator he had. You missed it but he was talking to the guy with all the needles stuck in him. Its supossed to show that they're working together.

Yeah this is only his second attempt at the exam, last time he nearly killed an examiner (he didn't actually kill him) and that's why he failed.

Believe it or not this anime was originally meant for kids and became more of an adult anime later on, so the first half or so of the series is pretty censored. When you get later into the show, it'll show a lot more than it does now.

That confused me at first too. I thought Hisoka was an examiner at first. Rather misleading.

Well, Hisoka Took the "kill everyone" approach by throwing those cards in the last episode, So it isn't a bad idea...

Yeah it's intentionally misleading. There are two hints though. One is when Tonpa says Hisoka was disqualified last year for attacking an examiner, and the other is when you see Illumi putting away the communication device immediately after Hisoka gets that call. Though even noticing both things wouldn't confirm anything 100%.

This is actually partially censored, as the guy why had his arms turn into petals originally had them ripped off, and in this scene, the guy's heads actually popped off. Though they stop censoring it pretty soon.
