Yea, the show was definitely making a point when the Lizard League, considered a joke even in the Invincible universe, ends up causing the most damage to the heroes that they've suffered so far. You only need to lose once in a life or death fight for it to be over.

All it takes is one, just one time of not being prepared, just one time where the right person isn't around, and things can turn around very quickly. The space team had Eve, without her they would've been dead, the ground team had no one from the A list, and that was the result. On a side note, i do find it extremely strange Kate really did just...die. Like if i understand her power correctly, clones can make clones, not just split from an 'original'? Wouldn't you therefore just keep some clones hidden away just in case?
