Alcohol is technically a poison (poison is a substance that causes harm or death to the body when absorbed), its just the negative effects are mild enough and the positive feelings strong enough that people are fine with it. No surprise that Maomao would love it heh.

You know, I can't remember the last time we watched an Anime where a character was as overjoyed as Maomao is to receive alcohol.

I don't know what's better honestly, Maomao knowing her dad was right that she couldn't be trusted touching corpses, or the fact that Jinshi and everyone just instantly understands and agrees when she explains it. Maomao's sort of acceptance of how easily she could die is fascinating, she's not wrong... she's a commoner so if she even just says the wrong thing to a noble she could end up dead, but most people would fret and fear over the idea, I guess in a way she is sort of taking back a little bit of control by getting Jinshi to agree to how she'd die, it does worry my a little that it might be foreshadowing.
