Maomao going to trigger a civil war or something someday due to a misunderstanding. Also, activated charcoal is still used as a quick countermeasure for poison. It's highly absorbent so can trap particles in it so if taken right after the poison it can absorb some of it while in the stomach and help prevent it from being absorbed by the body. it's also used in gas mask filters, stove fan filters and as air fresheners since it can even absorb orders.

Maomao is insanely sharp to have figured that all out, like I kind of get what her dad means about not relying entirely on intuition... but her intuition is a very valuable skill, intuition is picking up little hints and tells that you can't necessarily put into words, you shouldn't fully trust it, but don't disregard it. I don't know why Jinshi had such a shocked reaction, all Maomao did was give Lihaku a night of blissful dreams, what's wrong with that?

Also I can't remember if they actually ever explain the significance of the hair-pin. Like come right out and explain it in no uncertain terms. But I think it's implied to have romantic implications. Hence why Jinshi's upset, and per usual Maomao's not helping the situation.
