As always, this was hysterical and the game looks amazingly fun, but I can't wait to get my hands on the flame thrower!

Gun nerd here, the BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) is probably one of the coolest guns ever built. They brought in on the tail-end of WW1, where it performed admirably clearing out trenches. In between Wars, it famously armed Clyde Barrow (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) and the posse of Frank Hamer, the Texas Ranger who eventually killed the infamous bank robber couple. (Hamer basically armed his posse with a collection of semi-automatic and fully-automatic guns he'd collected over the years). Barrow stole most of his BARs from National Guard armouries. Which at the time were notoriously easy to break into, their security consisting mostly of a padlock and maybe some night-watchmen. Barrow actually customized his own BAR to have a welded, over and under magazine. That allowed him to increase the ammo capacity from 20 rounds, to 40. When WW2 came around, the BAR proved very popular with American Infantry Squads. Initially each squad of twelve men were only equipped with a single BAR. But the extra firepower was so appreciated. That they'd constantly report the squad BAR lost, requisition a replacement and then mysteriously find their "lost" original BAR. By which point it was too late for takesbacksies. The Army eventually realized the wisdom in having more than one BAR in a squad. By the time the war ended, they were officially issuing two to a squad of twelve men. While said men were losing one and then requisitioning a third.
