This was a great start! Tenchi is extremely likeable, and this demon is not who I originally thought it would be at all!

One of those classic anime series that showed on Cartoon Network although I watched the fansubs to finish it since Cartoon Network can't show a complete series to save its life. It's not as famous as the big hitters like Cowboy Bebop or Sailor Moon but it's a fun show. There is also an OVA version of it which is slightly different but also good.

Glad you enjoyed the first episode. This and Ruroni Kenshin were some of the first non Shonen or mecha anime I saw. Tenchi is a very weird series in a meta sense. If I remember correctly the OVA came out first, then they decided to do a series called Tenchi Universe which took the original story and retold the first half of the OVA in broad strokes before telling an original story (think of Fullmetal Alchemist vs Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood). It was very confusing because Toonami would air both series so all of a sudden you would get new episodes basically retelling the same story with different details. Also, I think Ryoko may have been my first anime waifu :)

Yea, this show immediately grabs your attention. Good setup with the hot demon and all, plus I really like Tenchi!
