Elves can just causally procrastinate a millennium. If 1,000 years is truly that “mere” to them it makes you question how long they really live for? If this story ends with Frieren watching old age take Fern & Stark then I don’t know if my feels can take that

Fern is clearly a very skilled mage, for her age and as a human. But the only way she even stood a slight chance at beating Frieren was with literally Frieren backing her up. Although I guess same can be said the other way, the only way Frierens chances are more than 50/50 is with someone as skilled as Fern.

Serie is obviously stubborn, but think about what Serie actually said, "Elves are able to put off making important decisions for a century or two, even ignoring them for a millennium poses no obstacle for them". She was teaching Frieren something important about the difference between elves and humans, but she was also talking about herself since it took her near 1,000 years to finally follow Flamme's last request. she set up the continential magic association only around 50 years ago so what probably finally pushed her to do it was seeing the rest of Flamme's dream come true, Frieren defeating the demon king with the Hero's party.

Serie is so fascinating to me. In many ways, the way she says the opposite of what she means is similar to early season frieren. She'll say it disgusts her... With a happy smirk on her face. Her look often doesn't match her words. I hope she meets a human that impacts her like himmel did frieren.
