"I've come here to cast spells and throw hands, and I'm all out of spells." - Denken It took two episodes for Denken to go from "Who is this old guy?" to one of my favorite characters. He is going up against a living Legend (He's fully aware of who Frieren is and what she's accomplished) but his only thought is on how to win, where most people would give up. And even after he loses and can't use magic anymore, he is doesn't dwell on that and just thinks about how to pass the test. The guy is a badass grandpa haha.

It still makes me wonder just how old Kraft and now Serie are. They look at Frieren and still see a kid essentially Will always love “it’s been a thousand years and this is how you say hello?”

I'm glad Mrs Spaz is liking the series, it's one of my favourite newer series. I like Denken, he's a noble who's willing to get his hands dirty in a fist fight but still has enough perspective to value people's lives and not needlessly go about killing people. Basically the group that lost their team mate didn't want to give up their bird so their friend didn't die for nothing, like, they've already lost, but giving up the bird in their minds would just make it worse, their team mate died to get it, so losing it would just make it sting worse, so they want to protect it. it's more based on emotion then logic.

Frieren breaking the barrier with very little effort is definitely up there with some of my favorite moments of the series. All the build up just for her to pop it like a kids party balloon was awesome story-wise and visually stunning as well
