It was cool, watching Jinwoo obliterate this douchebg, but his dying diatribe is a bit ominous!

“That’s another one of my emotions gone”. The leveling system is such an ominous concept. It seems to be leveling up Jin Woo’s mentality by ridding him of weakness in the form of emotions. But clearly the system needs him to be physically & mentally strong for whatever it has planned & it doesn’t seem like Jin Woo has a choice

I like how they portrayed murderous intent, it's a debuff skill that reduces the enemy stats, so showing the guy as feeling like he's slogging through water as his body slows down is well done. Usually debuff skills are shown as just a colored glow around the target or something.

Here we go: another fight with another enemy hunter, another chance to show Jinwoo's leveling progress. So, here, we have Kang Taeshik a covert psychopath working for the Hunter's Association so he can hide his dark proclivities for hunting humans. A familiar concept with a psychopathic character; they like to hide themselves among the ordinary masses while killing in secret. I'd say he serves to give a good motivation to Jinwoo for killing him when he reveals his true nature. Yet again, this episode was fun. We see Jinwoo pull out a new skill, murderous intent. And Kang goes down satisfyingly, seeing how outmatched he was against our boy. Now, we know Jinwoo is somewhere within the B rank. Jinwoo himself said there's still a world of difference between him and Inspector Woo Jinchul, an A-rank hunter, at the end there . But he's going to keep leveling, like the show's title says. It's going to be a fun journey up the ladder, though.

One thing I do like that this story does is show that psychos like the gang of 6 from before that trapped Jinwoo and the kid and Kang here take advantage of the dungeon system. Legally speaking, any crimes comitted in dungeons are not in the jurisdictions of any country, ergo, it's perfectly legal. Mind you, word does get out if they're caught so people become inclined to avoid Hunters who do shady things. But Jinwoo has acted purely in self-defense both times he's comitted murder aka justified homicide. Still, he's losing his humanity slowly. I fear he may develop a god-complex and see people as beneath him. I think the inspector knew Song was lying, but rolled with it as its easier to make that the official story. That said, Song is a megachad.

As a resident of the Abyss I can confirm that we do indeed gaze back. If you're going to be a weirdo and stare at us we will stare at you. Only natural. Man it's rare for a show to get me excited, but once my uncontrollable and psychotic laugh comes out I'm having a good time. Not as good as discount Fushiguro, but a good time none the less. And again with the setups and payoffs that you only see and second watches. I need the whole thing to be animated!

Kang had a very good point, as Jinwoo confirmed he's losing himself the farther he progresses. What does the System need him for, why did it choose him to begin with, and where is it gonna drive him? He's staring into one hell of an abyss As an extra added creepy factor, i'd like to point out that during the darkened scenes when Jinwoo's eyes are glowing, hes almost starting to resemble the creepy similing statue with the glowing eyes from episode 1
