I do like the concept of time travel in this show; you can travel to the future, but never the past as the past is set in stone. But despite his amorality, Zeref does seek a future for humanity. He, Igneel, Anna, and Layla all planned for this use of the Eclipse gate to bring about the downfall of Acnologia. Sadly the plan hit a big snag and Zeref abandoned it. And now Zeref is willing to erase everyone who exists in the current timeline for his own selfish desires of restoring his lost family. I find Zeref's motives noble; eliminate Acnologia and bring his family back, but his methods are all wrong. Dood is literally trying to play God just to get what he wants. Also, Damn only 3 episodes left; feels like only yesterday that you started Fairy Tail. I have also developed a new found appreciation for FT:FInal Season as on my first go with it, I actually kind of hated it, but seeing it a second go around, I think I was unfair to it. Edit: I forgot to mention this from last episode, but August never told Zeref who he was due to the curse of contradiction that plagues him. Zeref had lost his family and then his lover, if he ended up knowing he had a son and killed him via the curse, Zeref would likely be the most broken man alive and be more unhinged than he is now. August kept his identity secret more for the sake of his father than himself.
