Andy came back and he's more annoying and douchey than ever! So much for his positive character arc!

Man, this was a rough episode to get through. Not a whole lot of laughs going on. I'm still a little mad that they kinda reverted Andy's character back to his old self when I thought he'd really made his mark in the show and overcome some of his issues. I understand that Ed Helms had to leave for The Hangover, but I wish it hadn't come at the cost of his character's story. At the very least he should've taken Erin along with him on the boating trip. That would've made it infinitely more bearable. Honestly, I just say remember the Andy we had in season 8. A goofy, if often angry and potentially irritating, but overall solid character with his own lows but also his own triumphs. I think you get to see that version of the character complete his arc in the finale, but between his departure earlier in the season and the final episode, his presence is just marred. But hey, at least we got The Hangover Part 3 out of it! Eugh... definitely not worth it in my opinion. That aside, the first and second Hangover movies are pretty funny. I recommend maybe checking that film out as a bit of an Ed Helms palate cleanser lol. As for the Pam and Jim conflict, it really is a questionable choice to throw in these major marital problems in the final freaking season of the show. Although if I'm not mistaken this is a bit of a turning point for them in this regard, so it does get better. I believe some of the worst is behind you, and there's still some gems to be found. But make no mistake, it's a rocky road to the finish, though I do think it's worth it for that finale.

I'm in the group that does enjoy season 9. Is it the best season? No. Is it the worst season? Maybe. But I enjoy it nontheless. The Jim and Pam stuff isn't necessarily "fun" but... I don't want to say too much and accidentally spoil anything, but for me the ending of the show hits harder because they struggle here, than I think it would if they didn't. The one thing that I do really, really dislike about season 9 is Andy. He was an annoying, cringeworthy character early on, but over the past couple seasons he really stepped up, became a decent manager, and a better person. And this season they just undo all that development he went through and make him so unlikeable again. But, all that being said, there are still good things to come from this season!
