Hey guys!

So I don't have much to update for the last week. I went on my first vacation since Christmas, so I really stepped away from working (and the game) during that time, but I'm feeling refreshed and have been back to writing/coding since I've been back.

The next few weeks will be work on the longest and most complex chunk of work yet. The script for Friday will involve 4 very different paths and you will be making quite a few decisions, plus there will be sex scenes with different characters and varying levels of it depending on your choices. So just expect there will be a lot of new updates around "the friday chapter". Up to this point, the script didn't deviate wildly based on your initial club decision, but was more about allowing you to make more decisions that will affect your future...

I've had some interesting conversations with my husband about lewd games though, especially female POV ones, and I thought it might be a good thing to gather opinion on. We talked about catering to a female audience vs catering to a male one and how that can severely shift the way the story progresses, characters involved and even character design.

Obviously, my inclination is biased to cater to a female audience, since that's something I saw a real lack of in the space, and it's something I'm way more familiar with. But with a male audience, I am genuinely curious, is it important for him to "see" himself in one of the love interests, or is he getting enjoyment seeing the world from a female POV? Or is it something else entirely that I'm missing?

From the female POV, I thinks it's more about seeing yourself as the main character and living out your experiences through the MC. What do you think the experience is like for male/female players?

Lastly, I'm putting together some mini mood boards for a poll I'll be putting up, I'd like to get your opinion on the aesthetic of one of the new female characters I'll have to draw soon. So be on the lookout for that! ^^

I can’t speak to men, but what attracted me to this game as a womanis that it is being made by a woman. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how refreshing that is. I hope you make this the game you want it to be. To answer your question, I personally do like to see myself as as the MC. That’s another you reason I’m attracted to your game- I can play a close version of myself as black woman because you allow customization. Anyway, best of luck and I’m excited to see more!

Thats really encouraging and so nice to hear!! Yes! It is very hard to find female devs making female stories/games like this. And it's interesting that your perspective is almost exactly the same as mine, I'm a black woman as well, so even when I did find a cool game like GGGB, it was hard to fully immerse myself in it because I was playing as a white woman. Curious to know if you're into gonewildaudio/read smut and what your experience has been with those mediums. I find that audios have been really cool, since they're really a "self-insert" type deal.

I get the feeling i may be in an outlier group on this -- at least of people who are vocal and, basically, in on the ground level of this relatively nascent genre of games/fiction -- so i'm not sure how useful this input might be at the moment. But for me, it is not at all important to see myself in these games. That's actually basically the last thing i want. I prefer content that i can engage with as a viewing experience rather than as vicarious living/fantasy fulfillment. It's one of the main reasons i prefer female protagonist games as a guy. Games/VNs that offer choice are good, but just because that gives me the ability to influence the story in a direction i like rather than let me make the choices i might in the given situations. So, for me, it comes down to observing someone else's developing story and character rather than fantasizing about my own or ones involving me.

Interesting! I had never thought about it from that perspective, mainly because it seems to mimic my own position as the game creator. I'm constantly thinking about how I'd want the game to go and have to create every option and scenario for that. I like hearing about that though, because it gives me another thing to think about while writing and planning. I don't always have to write for those who want to step into the shoes of the MC, I can write for the sake of interesting and good storytelling, and have that be at the forefront! Thanks for that feedback! ^^
