Hello everyone.

Recently, I've been working hard on developing the Glow effect for the next update of Shoost.

In addition to the feature that makes the whole image glow, we've also added the ability to make only selected colors glow. It took some time, but we were able to achieve the quality we were aiming for.

Let's talk a bit about the technical side of things.

About how the Glow effect is created.

You might wonder what exactly goes into creating a Glow effect. Simply put, it involves layering a blurred image on top of the original image.

If you've seen the blur effect in AfterEffects or Photoshop, you know that creating a blurred image from scratch can be surprisingly difficult.

To briefly explain the blur effect, it involves layering the same image multiple times with slight shifts.

Since the image is heavily layered, you can understand why the blur process is computationally intensive. So, to reduce the processing load, we combine the layered images into one, lower the resolution, and then repeat the process of shifting and layering.

This repetition creates the blur effect. Balancing the visual expression and processing load was a time-consuming task, but I'm really pleased with the final result. We're also adding and adjusting other features. We need a little more time before the next update, but please look forward to it!
