Hello everyone!

I often work with animation style models, and I find it quite difficult to match the color scheme of the background with that of the characters.

A sense of cohesiveness between the characters and background is essential to create a sense of unity and overall atmosphere in the work. So, I would like to introduce a recommended book on color schemes to match backgrounds and characters.

Recommended Books

Color & Color Scheme Techniques Learned from Animation Color Design. (Probably in Japanese only.)

We often find books on determining color schemes for characters and backgrounds alone, but there have been surprisingly few books on color schemes for matching characters and backgrounds.

The book clearly explains how to change from basic colors to match the background. It is helpful not only to talk about color schemes to match characters and backgrounds, but also to talk about how to think differently depending on the taste of the work.

It may not be enough for those who want to learn about color in earnest, but it is perfect for those who want to know how to match backgrounds and characters first.

It is in Japanese, but mostly illustrations, so even if you don't understand Japanese, you can understand it to some extent.
